FamFest Atlantic is a family-focused festival in downtown Dartmouth that proudly “doesn’t suck for parents.” This two-day event features live music, dance, theatre performances, magic, arts and crafts, food vendors, the Parent Olympics, a kids’ used book fair, and plenty more for all ages.

The concert series will feature Canadian artists and bands that appeal to adult and youth audiences alike. Our goal is to support audience development and access to all ages programming to grow the incredible arts community in Nova Scotia.

Yes! A variety of local food vendors will be on site with family-friendly options. There will also be a licensed area.

Outside food is welcome and sealed water (1 bottle per person) is permitted. No other outside beverages are allowed, though bottled breastmilk and formula are always welcome.

Yes, FamFest Atlantic is committed to accessibility. The site is wheelchair accessible, and we are working to ensure inclusive programming for families of all abilities. If you have specific accessibility needs, we encourage reaching out in advance.

A designated area will be available for chairs and blankets, however space is limited. If the area is full, please prepare to carry your items with you. You’re also welcome to use nearby green spaces like Ferry Terminal Park throughout the day.

The festival runs rain or shine. Some programming may move indoors if needed, but we recommend dressing for the weather.

Yes! In-and-out privileges are in effect. Whether it’s nap time or a reset break, you’re free to return later. And yes, this also means you can come back kid-free for the evening headliners if that’s your MO.

We encourage walking, biking, or taking public transit (including the Halifax–Dartmouth Ferry Service, which drops you right at the festival site).
If you’re driving, here are some nearby options:
Alderney Landing Parkade – closest and most convenient (fills quickly)
Parking lot at 28 Queen St. - very short walk (fills quickly)
Downtown Dartmouth Street Parking – limited but available throughout the area
Dartmouth Sportsplex Parking – 10-15 minute walk with elevation
Mic Mac Mall Parking – park and take a short transit ride
We recommend arriving early and allowing extra time for parking, especially during peak hours.

For the safety and comfort of all guests, pets are not permitted on the festival grounds. Service animals are always welcome.

Most vendors will accept debit and credit, but some may take cash-only. We recommend bringing a bit of both to be safe. There are ATMs available in the Alderney Ferry Terminal Building.
